About Prairie Business Partners LLC
Located in the middle of the Chiwaukee Prairie, Pleasant Prairie,
Wisconsin, Prairie Business Partners LLC got its start when Gretchen
Koehler-Swaney, Owner, decided to create a company with the vision
of bringing back individual service to this auto-reply world while being
able to provide outsourcing services to Small and Medium-sized
companies as well as Hotels and Corporate Travelers. Prairie Business
Partners, LLC achieves personal service through technology as a
Virtual Assistant Company.
Gretchen has always been very inquisitive asking questions about
current business trends in order to gain a better understanding about
decisions being made that impact our economy, business and
ultimately our lives. With the new trends towards outsourcing and
offshoring, Gretchen wondered why we assume that offshoring will save
us money especially considering infrastructure, security, language
barriers, and time difference? What if we were to outsource locally in
the US, in effect: onshoring.
Why don't we outsource to small towns in the US where the cost of
living is cheaper than larger cities? Certainly we can invest in the US
just a fraction of the cost spent overseas building large corporate
campuses (and the IT infrastructure and physical security involved) to
realize a much larger return. What will companies get in return?
Dedicated workers with relatively low turn over working in an
entrepreneurial atmosphere for a fraction of the cost in time difference,
infrastructure latency, language barrier, and with a significantly lower
security risk. The technology is there, with cable modems, high-speed
internet access. The skillset is there with misplaced workers across
the midwest who worked in U.S. companies now offshored. U.S. worker
expertise is just as good as it has ever been and can keep up with the
demand. Got a 200 room hotel with everyone needing an Administrative
Assistant? We can staff that with little notice and so much more.
With this in mind, Gretchen has started Prairie Business Partners,
LLC with the desire to promote outsourcing Administrative Services to
small towns where there is an abundance of dedicated hardworking
individuals ready to take on anything.
Gretchen's corporate career began with US Department of Defense
Contracting and US Navy Logistics and personal services to the US
Navy Clients. Desktop Publishing soon became her life as she managed
the team documenting the National Weather Service System and then
US and International Postal Services Systems as well as Government
Proposals. Project Management played a large part of her career and
she is certified in two methodologies.
